Statement
My paintings are usually created outside, on location, and often finished in one session. The light changes, the people come and go, cars pass, and I may get thirsty, or hungry, or tired. By keeping a focus on one view, I concentrate on color and shape, and play with abstraction and representation but am also interested in the idea of intersection. I enjoy the sense that time passing is recorded in the fabric of the landscape, whether urban or rural, and that the current moment is always out of reach.
